A little bit about yourself
I am an experienced and passionate educator with extensive experience teaching English as a foreign language to students of all abilities and nationalities. I have 25 years of experience working as a Medical General Practitioner in the NHS and I have a Masters degree in Psychology. I have travelled extensively and lived in South Africa, Malawi and China. I love travel and exploring new cultures and languages
Your academic background
I have a medical degree from Kings College London and a Masters degree in Psychology from Middlesex University. I am both TEFL and CELTA qualified and hoping to sit my DELTA exam in the next few years
I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over three years and I have over 2500 hours of teaching adult students of all ages and abilities. I have taught Business English as well as IELTS and OET. As a doctor I was involved in the teaching of medical students and trainee general practitioners as well as mentoring nurse practitioners and other senior medical personnel
Why did you start teaching?
Teaching has been something that has always been integral to my work as a doctor so progressing to teaching English as a foreign language has been a wonderfully refreshing and enjoyable experience. Combining my medical knowledge with my experience teaching English as a foreign language has enabled me to deliver dynamic and effective Business, Academic and Medical English lessons and workshops.
