IELTS Medical on the GDPR

  • By Gurjit

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force this Friday… but what does this mean for you?

The GDPR will be bringing up to speed all of the personal data laws across Europe in this ever increasing and popular digital era. The new Regulation will be boosting your rights and will give you more control over how your information is taken and handled….the power will be in your hands.  It will also change and enforce how businesses and organisations such as ourselves hold and use your personal information… measures will be set and they will be held to account under the GDPR.

I am sure we have all experienced phone calls from third parties offering us some kind of service or another, or even have seen the boxes to tick or untick at the end of an application or form of some sort asking whether we will allow the company in question to share our information with other companies so we can see what they offer or to be kept updated with their offers and so on… Or even my personal favourite, the never ending emails that fill your inbox and take forever to delete….. well this is what the GDPR is all about and giving us the choice about how we want our personal data used and shared.

The types of data that fall under the GDPR are information such as your name, your photos, your email address, your social media post, your personal medical information, your bank details etc…. in other words any data that can be used to determine your identity.

Well you will be pleased to know that IELTS Medical do not share your data with other organisation or third parties… so there is no need to worry about that! All of your information is kept in a safe and secure manner, complying with all of the recommended GDPR guidelines.

So now you know your personal data online will be governed by the newly revamped data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation, I hope you feel assured and protected with knowing that your personal data is safe with us.
