Nurses from overseas who want to work in the UK are required to be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).  In order to be able to become a registered nurse, nurses from overseas need to pass the Academic IELTS examinations and obtain an IELTS certificate before applying to the NMC.

What are the minimum IELTS requirements for nurses in the UK?

The IELTS requirements for nurses are 7.0 score in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking tasks. The minimum overall score to be able to apply to the NMC is 7.0.

Why should I choose IELTS Medical?

Although there is an increasing number of overseas nurses and other medical professionals who want to work in the UK, our centre is the only one in the UK that specialises in IELTS preparation for medical professionals. We offer daily classes that provide students with IELTS speaking, reading, writing and listening practice. We help nurses to prepare for the Academic IELTS examinations efficiently, effectively, in a supportive and stress-free environment.  Our daily classes have a maximum of 4 medics and we also offer one-to-one lessons. We are happy to say that our medics are showing consistent improvement throughout the course and successfully obtain the required scores that medics need to be able to start working in the UK.

Moreover, we know that the whole process of registering with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) after passing the IELTS exam might look too demanding or confusing but we are here to help every step of the way and are happy to offer any NMC advice you might need.
